HSE ISSEK Russian Cluster Observatory to Present the HSE Global Cities Innovation Index 2024
The 2024 Index covers over 1,000 cities and agglomerations from 144 countries worldwide, which have become innovation hubs attracting 27,925 leaders of the innovation economy – successful companies (mega corporations, breakthrough startups, world-famous fashion houses and computer game developers) and prominent individuals (highly cited researchers, popular musicians, best-selling artists and internationally recognized architects). To identify key figures in the innovation economy, we used open and globally recognized platforms, aggregators, and rankings. The Index is based on a unique system of 90 indicators, grouped into 21 sections and broken down into three blocks: Technological Development, Creative Industries, and Urban Environment.
The publication highlights 20 best practices of cities that have implemented effective strategies to enhance their attractiveness to globally recognized innovation leaders. In addition to the ranking, the top 50 cities are analyzed in terms of patent activity, offering deep insights into their unique features and technological specializations.
The presentation will take place on October 29 at 15:00 (GMT +3) and will feature the report’s authors and members of the HSE GCII Advisory Board, comprising 13 experts in the fields of science, technology, innovation, and urban development from 10 countries worldwide.
